What Should I Buy?
Honestly, I suggest you don't buy anything new. Put the money in the bank and/or pay down some of your credit card debt. Or buy something you may earn money from such as a certificate of deposit, stocks, bonds, diamonds, or gold. However, If you're like me, you just can't stop yourself. So, here are some suggestions for your 2008 economic stimulus payment.
Sony BRAVIA® Theater Micro System - DAV-IS10

I am all about the HOME theater. Why waste the time and spend the money to see a movie in a crowded, uncomfortable, movie theater when you have a nice big HDTV at home? Some say it's for the total surround experience. Well, if you're in need of an easy, clear, loud, and very, VERY compact solution to the surround sound problem, then check out the Sony BRAVIA Theater Micro System. This $800 MSRP surround sound setup is available from several merchants for only $600.
I found it at my local Costco for $579 (+9% sales tax). I found it online at Crutchfield for $599 with no sales tax and free shipping, and on Amazon for $545, but passed it up because it does not play Blu-Ray discs. I'll wait for next years Blu-Ray compatible model.
UPDATE: 06/07/2008 - SonyStyle.com is offering this setup for $500 with coupon code: DAVSAVE300 and WA residents pay NO tax and NO shipping, plus if you apply for a Sony Card VISA credit card you get $100 statement credit bringing the price down to $400 and 12 months no interest on your purchase.
Simply put; you can get the DAV-IS10, on credit, for only $33.33 a month for the next year and pay no interest.
I can't wait to see this kind of deal next year on a Blu-Ray model.

BestBuy has the Sony VAIO T2330 1.6GHz 15.4" Notebook for $550. Pentium Dual-Core 1.6GHz, 1GB DDR2 (2x512MB), 160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive, 10/100 ethernet + 56k modem + 802.11g wireless, 15.4" 1200x800 WXGA, Vista Home Premium Edition. $550 + tax + upgrade of 2x1GB DDR2 (to max out the 'puter with 2 Gigs of RAM) = $665 at my local BestBuy. Good deal, so Team ATOMiK purchased not one, but two (2) of them! However, this was not what I did with my 2008 economic stimulus payment, as I have not seen my $600 yet.
The one thing this notebook is missing is BlueTooth. So I think a couple of micro USB BlueTooth dongles are in the near future.
